Shipping and Unloading Policies

Common Carrier Ground Freight

DuctWorks Heating and Cooling uses UPS Freight, FedEx Freight, and Estes as its means of moving large freight (LTL Service), and USPS, UPS and FedEx for our ground packages.

Large product orders with a total weight exceeding 100-lbs. will be shipped via LTL freight at a discounted rate to the nearest LTL freight terminal or to a business with means of unloading shipment. Shipping cost shown on this web site are to the nearsest LTL Terminal. LTL freight companies will provide residential home delivery for a nominal charge, please give us a call or email for a price quote or to request this service. Product deliveries generally take 3 – 5 business days following completion of order.

*Customer’s Responsibility: It is the customer’s responsibility to contact the designated LTL freight terminal 24 hours-prior to delivery. DuctWorks Heating & Cooling will provide the customer with a Tracking “PRO” number to track the shipment. DuctWorks Heating & Cooling will also provide the customer with the telephone number and address of the designated LTL freight terminal immediately after shipment has been processed and put into the  tracking system.

Smaller product orders, custom built items and back ordered item’s under 100-lbs and meeting weight and size requirements will be shipped via ground UPS, FedEx or USPS and will be delivered to home or business at their standard shipping rates.

Damaged Freight

Inspect Your Delivery! DuctWorks Heating & Cooling will not be responsible for any damaged freight. It is your responsibility to inspect your shipment. You must check for damage and you must check that you are receiving the exact item you ordered. When you sign the Bill of Lading (BOL), a legal document, you are accepting the delivery in good condition and you have received what you ordered. Please read your BOL or any shipping documents carefully before signing.

At the time shipment is received:

  • Observe entire shipment for visible damage and correct amount of pieces.
  • Make notation of shortage or damage on all copies of the freight bill.
  • Sign for number of pieces.
  • If damage (hidden or concealed) is discovered, save the carton, request inspection report immediately from the carrier. Follow up request in writing, and call our office to report damage or loss.
  • Concealed damage must be reported and an inspection must be requested within 5 days.
